Configs in Git, agents in a sandbox
Keeping infrastructure configs in a self-hosted Git server, with an AI agent that works on them from inside its own VM.

Configs as code
Docker Compose files and service configs live in a private Gitea instance. Every change has a history, and rebuilding a service means checking out a file rather than remembering what I clicked. Sometimes configs break or become outdated, having a history to roll back to is a basic need in homelabing.
A sandboxed agent
A Hermes agent runs inside its own KVM virtual machine on the server. It reads configs from Gitea and proposes changes when containers update, while the VM boundary keeps it away from the host and the other services.
